9.7 billion People will live in 2050, 70% in cities. Land’s high cost & shortage will create conflict of mobility infrastructure versus residence & employment. Europe will lose over $200 billion from traffic jams in the coming decade, but building highway interchanges is a heavy public expenditure (in both $ and Acres). Public transport is not sufficient to drastically reduce private vehicles. Even the Autonomous Vehicles revolution will not rid the roads of privately used cars.
